New EPL T-Shirts

I found this hot pink t-shirt in a bargain bin in a men's shop, as you do. Not that there's anything wrong with it, only that it's not a colour most men would buy, I suppose.

It would make for a nice contrast, I thought.

This one is exactly the same as the one I gave to Jessica's mum Julie when I met her here in perth recently.

Sadly, there are still an incredible number of people choosing to keep their heads buried in the sand about Jessica's achievements but as far as I'm concerned Jessica, at the age of 16, spent the best part of the last 7 months at sea sailing solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world.

Jessica and Ella's Pink Lady set sail from Sydney Harbour on 18th October 2009 and crossed the equator into the northern hemisphere, passed all lines of longitude and rounded 4 southern capes namely Cape Horn, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin and Tasmania's South East Cape before ending their circumnavigation at the same port where they started, 3 days shy of Jessica's 17th birthday.

Jessica successfully achieved what she set out to do in fulfilling her ambition and ultimately realising her childhood dream! There is nothing any naysayer can say or do to diminish such an incredible accomplishment nor dampen her pride and sense of achievement.

  2. Hi Sam,

Great job on the shirts. Sadly, few if any people in the states would know what it is all about since our media has shown no interest.

Your comments about "X number of sleeps to go" reminds me of a kid counting down days to Christmas.

  3. Hi, Sam!
Love the shirts, and looking forward to seeing you all in yours on Saturday (int the photos, at least)! Great job creating one for the guys too, I think that pink is probably even better for them, but I know that they won't all be able to get that color!

    @ Georgia Guy . . .
Hi, Bill! I'm going to wear my pink anyway . . . who knows, we may find others who have just been following along, but not commenting! Or, maybe they've been following on facebook or twitter, or one of the other social network sites. Wear your pink, anyhow, and if someone asks . . . it'll give us a good opportunity to brag on our Jesse!!! If you see someone else in pink, it'll give you a good reason to stop them and ask if they're celebrating Jesse's completion of her "solo, non-stop, unassisted, circumnavigation of the globe". . . if they look puzzled, and say "No" well, go ahead and brag some more!!!! I guess we could give the media one last chance to come through, now that Jesse's arrival is right on the horizon!! But I'm very disappointed in them!!!

Your comments have been great, Bill, and I hope to see more of your comments on one of the blogs (either Jesse's, or Sam's, or the Jessaholics). We can't just turn off all the caring and concern for her, and for each other, so it's important to keep in touch!!! We'll need your viewpoint, on any, and all, future issues I'm sure we'll be discussing!!! Will watch for you, Georgia Guy, on the blog!!!

Sorry, Sam, I know that you'd rather we not send personal messages on this site . . . I got carried away, and I'll try not to let it happen again!!!
We're so jealous of you and all the other Jessaholics who are going to have one humungous celebration and party . . . probably on into the wee small hours os Sunday morning!!!! Don't forget to say a prayer of thanks for Jesse's successful arrival back home! I'll be doing the same!!!

Do you have one last Voyage Art, Sam, that you're going to surprise us with??? (or maybe even more, as Jesse has more milestones in store for her???)
I do hope that you're considering putting them in book form, and having them bound!!! If you don't do it, I guess I'm just going to have to attempt to do it myself, just for my own personal enjoyment . . . to have them all in one place, and so that I can show them to everyone, and so that I can brag on YOU!, and re-live these amazing 7 months!!

    Love and Hugs!!!

  4. Hello Carol, thankyou so much for all your kind words of support and encouragement you've given me of Voyage Art throughout Jessica's journey. I truly appreciate it.

I don't mind a bit of chatter here, it was on Voyage Art that I didn't encourage it because I am going to print it all in book form, including the comments.

Thankyou Bill for all the support you've given me too including your own contribution to Voyage Art. I appreciate it so much.

I leave for Sydney this time tomorrow and I can't wait to meet Jessica and all the Jessaholic/Polaris crew. We are going to have the time of our lives, no doubt.

Take care of yourselves and don't forget to look out for us on TV if you get a chance.

My kindest regards to you with love....Sam XX

  6. Hi, again,

By the way, Sam, I want to wish you a Happy Nurses Day. I understand that today (the 12th) is International Nurses Day, so it’s not just celebrated here in the states. I believe we have some other nurses on Jesse’s blog, so I’ll post it there as well!!! I’ve worked in hospitals for many, many, years, but not as a nurse. When I was still in school, I didn’t think I was smart enough to remember all that anatomy and physiology necessary to being a nurse, but I really do appreciate all the caring and dedication that each of you nurses put into your work! I’m sure it’s often a thankless job, but we are thankful for you, and the others that are willing, and compassionate enough, to do it anyway!!!

    Cheers!!!

  7. @ Sami ......... Safe travels and ENJOY! I know you will! Be sure to give the TWO THUMBS UP signal and BIG wave and smiles to the cameras for us wont you?! :)

@ Carol ........ Hope you manage to enjoy Jesse's return in some way up/over ! A pity the media up/over aren't running with it, it is afterall HUGE!
Thanks also for the Nurses day comments .... I'm a retired nurse, but once a nurse, always a nurse! LOL And yes, we all must make every effort to maintain contact and nurture the new friendships!
Hmmm ... ya never know, maybe we could even organise a Jessaholics gathering somewhere in the future??!! Planned ahead, folks could prepare for it and travel etc. Sound like a good plan??? :)

Have fun fun fun, Sami and the others in Sydney! Faye and Max already are! LOL They're already turning Janell into an Aussie!

    Love and hugs ...........

  10. Hi all,

Just stopped by here to see if anyone was awake.

@ Carol - thanks for the kind comments.

@ Sam - glad I could make a small contribution.

@ One HD. You missed a great opportunity by not at least having some form of pay for view of the arrival for those of us not in Aussie Land.. (Not that I even expect that they are viewing this blog).

Those in Sydney please take multitude of photos for those of us outside the action.

    Hugs to all the Jessaholics.

  11. Sam,

When it's time for the awards, I vote the Jessaholics as the "Best Dressed" at Jessica's homecoming. You all looked great on TV.
